Courtroom5 Names Arman Aydemir Chief Technology Officer to Advance AI-Powered Access to Justice

Arman Aydemir joins Courtroom5 as CTO

DURHAM, NC – September 2, 2025 – Courtroom5, the leading platform empowering self-represented litigants in U.S. civil courts, today announced the appointment of Arman Aydemir as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Aydemir will spearhead the company’s AI-driven litigation tools to expand access to justice nationwide.

“We are thrilled to welcome Arman to our executive team,” said Sonja Ebron, Courtroom5 co-founder and CEO. “He shares our mission to make civil courts more accessible and fair. Arman’s deep technical expertise and lived commitment to access to justice make him the ideal person to lead our technology roadmap.”

“I’ve seen firsthand the barriers people face when they walk into court without a lawyer,” said Aydemir. “I’m excited to apply cutting-edge AI to help level the playing field for millions of self-represented litigants.”

A Durham native, Aydemir studied computer science at the University of Colorado Boulder and pursued doctoral research at Purdue University before moving into applied AI. He is a published researcher, accomplished software engineer, and former founder of a legal tech company that partnered with Courtroom5 to serve pro se litigants.

“Moments like this warrant pausing and really appreciating the progress that Justice Tech has made,” said Ken Friedman, chair of Courtroom5’s advisory board. “Aydemir could have accepted a job building LLMs for any of the massive tech companies, but instead chose to devote his talents to helping the countless individuals forced to navigate the court system without an attorney. This is a win for Justice Tech, a win for Courtroom5, and a win for pro se litigants across the country.”
